Homemade Whipped Pumpkin Body Butter! |
This is another wonderful idea to give as gifts for the holidays. Its fragrance is that of a warm pumpkin pie with a hint of apples and spice. This butter is very light and fluffy, loaded with wonderful nutrients for your skin. It is excellent for dry areas like your elbows, knees, and feet. Apply it just before climbing into bed at night, and let the aroma send you off into a wonderful deep and relaxing sleep.
Once again, I've listed the main ingredients and their benefits to your skin.
Once again, I've listed the main ingredients and their benefits to your skin.
- Pumpkin Seed Butter - This butter is high in Vitamin A for healing skin, Vitamin C as an antioxidant, and Zinc. It is thought to help other additives absorb into the skin thus intensifying desired results. It is also thought to provide moisturization to dry and damaged skin because of its high levels of Omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids. Pumpkin makes an excellent addition to skincare products.
- Babassu Oil - This is a fatty oil from kernels of babassu nuts similar to coconut oil. It is thought to be soothing, protective, conditioning and moisturizing to the skin. Penetrates quickly without a greasy after touch. A common additive in products formulated for dry scalp and itching skin. I use all natural and cold pressed. The best oils are cold pressed. Cold pressed oils are obtained through pressing and grinding fruit or seeds with the use of heavy granite millstones or modern stainless steel presses, which are found in large commercial operations. Although pressing and grinding produces heat through friction, the temperature must not rise above 120°F (49°C) for any oil to be considered cold pressed. Cold pressed oils are produced at even lower temperatures. Cold pressed oils retain all of their nutritional value.
- Vitamin E Oil - Vitamin E Natural T-50 is a heat stable antioxidant. Studies have shown that this particular form of Vitamin E is the best antioxidant for cosmetic applications. It has a higher amount of gamma tocopherols compared to pharmaceutical Vitamin E pills. This oil is all natural and plant based.
- Arrowroot Powder - is a large, perennial herb found in rainforest habitats. Its scientific name is Maranta arundinacea. It is cultivated for a starch obtained from the rhizomes (rootstock), which is called arrowroot. This starch is a wonderful replacement for talc in many cosmetic and skincare formulations. It imparts a silky texture to body and bath products. It is all natural.
Carpe Diem Bill & Lil
