Headache Relief Ointment

So, are you tired of taking pills to get relief from those nagging headaches?  Me too.  I have discovered a formula that may be helpful to you.  It's an all natural and chemical free application.  It works on tension headaches, sinus related headaches, allergy headaches, migraine headaches, and is said to work on that 'time-of-the-month' headache also.  I don't know about you, but I'm game to try anything natural that will help relieve a headache that is not a pill.

Headache Relief Ointment

The practice of using essential oils is thought to stretch back to ancient cultures, including the Egyptians, Greeks, and Chinese, with each society contributing. Several oils specifically have shown promise in alleviating headache pain. These oils work by reducing inflammation, reducing stress or anxiety, encouraging healthy sleep habits, managing hormone levels, and minimizing sinus pressure or allergies.

Let's look at what's in this little bottle, and why and how it works:

  • Mid Chain Triglycerides LiquidThis is a liquid oil derived from Coconut Oil. It is comprised of short chain fatty acids, and is extremely stable with an almost indefinite shelf life. It's an excellent emollient that provides a smooth and silky feel. It is a non-greasy oil that is easily absorbed into the skin. It's all natural, yay!  It works as a great carrier for essential oils.

  • Peppermint Essential Oil - Migraine.com says that Peppermint Essential Oil is known to be both calming and numbing. It is believed that these properties cause it to be beneficial for people who suffer from migraines and other types of headaches.  For some people, applying Peppermint Essential Oil to the forehead and temples serves as a natural medication for migraines or other types of headaches.  Applying to the base of the neck can be helpful for alleviating some tension headaches.

  • Lavender Essential Oil - Some studies have shown that Lavender Essential Oil can be helpful for alleviating headaches, even migraines, when used at the very first sign of pain or discomfort.  Lavender essential oil has been used as an anxiolytic drug, a mood stabilizer, a sedative, spasmolytic, antihypertensive, antimicrobial, analgesic agent as well as a wound healing accelerator.

  • Frankincense Essential Oil - Frankincense, sometimes referred to as olibanum, is a common type of essential oil used in aromatherapy that can offer a variety of health benefits, including helping relieve chronic stress and anxiety, reducing pain and inflammation, boosting immunity and even potentially helping to fight cancer.  Derived from the gum or resin of the Boswellia genus of trees, this oil has been revered for centuries.  A drop of high quality essential frankincense oil placed on your thumb, then pressed into the roof of your mouth is a natural remedy that can stop migraines instantly.  Ancient Egyptians used frankincense oil as a natural migraine remedy when it was applied externally to the head. Some people dislike the taste of the oil so they use it in specific massage points on their head. Put the oil on your fingertips and rub your temples, forehead, the back of your neck and/or your scalp.

  • Eucalyptus Essential Oil Essential oils for headache blends often incorporate eucalyptus for its anti-inflammatory and expectorant qualities. Because of its expectorant effects, it can also help relieve sinus infections. Eucalyptus oil refreshes and stimulates the brain, clearing mental exhaustion and fatigue. It is particularly effective for colds for its ability to heal the upper respiratory tract. It eases pain and reduces inflammation.

That is the sum of ingredients in my newest potion.  All natural, all reported to be good for you in many ways, but, best of all, I can attest that what's in this little bottle does help to alleviate the pain and discomfort of headaches.
